There is a guy near me selling what looks like a pretty mint 2wd Bronco II. Maybe an 89, I forget since I haven't talked to him for a bit. The price is good, and it looks practically new from the road. I know some, maybe all, of the BII's came with a fake transfer case, so it wasn't difficult to make it a 4wd rig. Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks.

You'd have to look and see. My 90 2wd BII didn't come with the dummy t-case. It had a splined flange that bolted to the output shaft of the A4LD and a normal Ford 4 bolt ujoint flange on the driveshaft. I can't tell you if that's a 90 only thing or a Gen II thing.
I can tell you that my 90 BII had front knuckles that the tie rods came in from the top, unlike the Ranger. Someone with a lifted 2wd would probably be interested in them for better steering angles.
