So I have no clue what to call this part but the rod that is connected the the clutch interlock switch broke. The switch still works but the rod is in two pieces. I have two pictures and can take more if it'll help someone help me fix my baby!
The first one is of the broken rod. You can clearly see the one of the two pieces the other one is to the right of it. Second picture is the interlock switch. Would really love some information.

Is this for your '93?

Moving to the transmission section.

Yes it is. The rod is connected to the clutch pedal.

Pushrod the switch goes on or is that the shaft coming out of the master cylinder? (or are they the same thing?)

To be honest I have no clue. The pictures I took are from inside the cab under the dash. I haven't tried pulling anything apart yet.

And the two rods used to be one if that's what you're asking.

Yeah.

They have the pic laid out weird. They have a small pin with the switch in front of it in the engine side of the firewall relative to the master cylinder. I don't know if that is a separate piece or the shaft that goes into the master shown separated from the master to show how the switch relates to it.

So you're saying that it's apart of the master cylinder but don't know if I can buy the part separate or have to buy the whole this?

You need a new master cylinder. IIRC, you can't replace just the push rod that broke. Not sure about Rangers, but some full size ones have a metal rod instead of a plastic one. I know with the full size trucks, the rod is said to be non-removable once installed in the master cylinder.

The interlock switch is removable, it comes off the old rod and goes on the new. It can be a bit of a pain to remove. The white plastic part gets slid out after compressing the locking tabs. If I remember right, there is then a tab up by where it goes through the firewall that needs depressed, then you can rotate and remove the switch.
