Bought a Shortblock today.

I have another question.

The piece that screws into the block that the oil filter screws onto, where can i get one?

I burgered up the threads on the one i have trying to get it out of the block. Thanks, Brian

I think I've got an extra one too, I ran across it cleaning up the shop Sunday. I'll have to check it to make sure its what I think it is. You can have it for the cost of the shipping.

Same here on the shipping.
Maybe between the 2 of us we can score you one.

My heads

I took the heads off the crappy engine and had them cleaned up with valve job.
Someone put larger valves in them, with hardened seats and bronze valve guides. woohoo

thanks. let me know what you find out.

I went out and checked it, it's definately an oil filter block fitting but the filter threads are different from an FL1A filter. If I recall this one may have come off a 90's motor that used an FL820S

Ok. Thanks for checking.

Should i prime the engine long enough to have good oil pressure on the guage, then rotate it 1/4 turn and repeat till a full revolution is made?

What's the casting numbers on those heads ?

They are E7 heads but i'll have to check what year they were actually made.

Doesn't matter, they're all the same except for the ones came with the 351's, and only the bolt holes are larger. Just wonderin if they were GT40 irons

Got the engine in over the weekend. Just need to set the timing and try to fire it up.
Open headers ought to be kinda loud. lol

I primed it till the gauge read 60psi then rotated it 1/4 turn and repeated until a full revolution was made.

I was able to use the 351w swap headers on my 302 witch kind of surprised me.

I will get the initial fire up on video.

I love uncapped headers...........waiting on the vid!
