Boogered up my right quarter panel yesterday :/

The trick to body repair is to re-create the accident in reverse

Too bad that it's not like an old-school vinyl album, where you could just play it backwards.

Don't feel bad.

There's some of those concrete post things in the parking lot of wally world in Auburn maine.

There's one in particular that gets hit.... at least weekly. Sometimes in the middle of the G.D day.. somehow..

It's such a phenomenon that the stupid post now has its own Facebook page where people upload pictures of everyone who's driven into it lol. Every major news station has had a 6pm story about it, every radio station DJ let's us know when it's been hit again... it's just... wild.

Here's a good one...

Looks like you got a picture of a brand new ford ranger raptor.

There was a think on the radio recently they were talking about. A stop sign outside a shopping center that constantly gets hit. They painted the post bright yellow and put up flashing light and everything and people just keep crashing into it in the middle of the day.

Edit; After googling it, I think we are talking about the same thing.

The people that shop at the auburn Walmart take the whole 'people of Walmart' thing to the absolute next level. I've never felt better about myself than on the odd occasions I end up shopping there lol.

The one local shopping center (that includes a Walmart) used to have a boulder on the one corner with a 6” high curb all around it. People hit it so frequently and several people high-centered their car on the boulder. It had its own Facebook page and was named Brock The Rock. Eventually they took Brock out to stop people from hitting him. But I mean, when I say boulder, this thing was like 2-3’ tall and 4-5’ around and there were cars that got high centered on it. Like seriously, what do you have to do to get a CAR high centered on that? Seems more like effort would be required to screw up that bad…

It's easy to see why here, they left out the flashing arrow! :/

I have done that too on a previous truck or two.

I pulled the panel and popped it out with a 2x4 and a 5lb sledge but it still had a crease. If your truck is already all banged up, that's what I would do but I don't know how the rest of the truck looks.

It had a Much smaller one before, from cutting firewood and had it fully loaded with the big chunks. It had gotten dark on me and backing up into an opening to turn around I got too close to a small tree that dinged it a bit, but it didn't look bad when you looked right at it.
It was in the exact same spot so not as often seen up close, but this one fixed it, and it can be seen a mile away

I did something like that with my first Ranger. Still mad at myself about it…

I did it once 10 or 12 years ago and it wasn't enough to attract attention, that didn't bother me at all
This one made the 1st one plum disappear :/

Ha! I have almost the same story. I tagged the passenger side extended cab rocker panel area off-roading my extended cab 2wd Ranger in Wellsville, Ohio with TRS. I was a little upset about letting the body damage happen. I forget how long it was after that when I turned too quick trying to get in a tight parking lot and did almost exactly what you did to the side. It ended up staying like that until a lady plowed into me at college.

Three strikes about does it eh? It's what they said on that ball game last night anyway

Something like that. It got fixed from that crunch, but then being I was afflicted with being particularly dumb back then, it got wrecked a few other times…

Sorry man, that just hit me wrong I guess. Reckon I wrecked a few too many myself, at least one I landed upside down

It’s all good. I’ve learned to admit to being particularly stupid for a long time. I still have the truck and it is currently, still in wrecked condition. Maybe someday I’ll get it right again, but it’s a constant reminder of the dangers of stupidity. It was my first truck, first vehicle and brand new at age 17 and something that I should still be driving, not looking at it smashed. I ended up having to hurry up and buy my 95 F-150 for transportation which then ended up costing me over two grand in parts in the first year I had it. To go from hot rodding a brand new Ranger to a more than 10 year old truck that is particularly slow (although it will drag anything slow) was a bit of an eye opening experience.

Never put one upside down yet, but my first Ranger was airborne a few times…

Came a little closer than I’d like to admit about almost rolling the choptop once, was screwing around and there was this angled cut in a bank and I ran one tire up the ramp like an impromptu RTI ramp except I went up it too fast and brought a rear tire off the ground going up on the low side and when I decided to stop, went down. And down. And down. Because the other back tire was up on the ramp… that was a little bit of a bad moment as I started wondering just what would be the point where the whole thing just rolls..
