Bondo or sound deadening from factory

I found a massive amount of what looks like Bondo under the exterior bed side panel. Damage repair or factory sound
deadening material?

As a guess, that sounds like a repair. Anyway you can take a picture and post it?

I will post a photo if I can figure out how. Testing with a magnet, found stronger attraction on opposite side of bed.
I'm going with the "repair" theory. It all started with cracks in an otherwise flawless paint job.
