1987 2.9. What grade bolt do the exhaust manifold to head require. The SM says nothing about it. Looked at rock auto for a set, nothing doing. The exhaust to tail pipe bolts are available. They are 10.9 grade 12mm x 1.75.

10.9 is metric grade 8. That's the best you're gonna get and you honestly don't even need that for the muffler/tailpipe parts IMO. For the manifolds, yes use grade 8/10.9

I also need some exhaust manifold bolts, but I noticed that one of the "bolts" is a stud, and two others are these weird bolts with smaller sized studs protruding from the top. Does anyone have the part numbers on these, or at least a good place to find them?

I have a 1987 2.9. The bolts with these weird bolts with smaller sized studs protruding from the top are for the heat shield which often rust off or are taken off. One of them is for the oil dip stick anchor. dirty

Makes sense... My heat shield was long gone before I got the truck, haha! Guess I'll just eliminate the weird studs and go with regular bolts. I found a local bolt shop that had every size bolt imaginable. All of the manifold bolts are size M8x1.25 (at least for the 86-88 cylinder heads). Eight of those are 80cm long, and the others I've yet to measure properly. I'll be sure to post when I do. Hopefully that will save a few of you the headache I've had trying to find them! Ha! As long as you get the 10.9 grade (grade 8 for those of us who still love standard measurements!), they should work great!
