Being poor sucks aka another lost opportunity

I'm gifted with the ability to find great deals, but handicapped by being poor. I was finally hauling my $100 HF trailer to the compound. A guy in a newer truck parked by the road followed me in. I went over to ask him if he was lost. Turns out he works for Kohler and was at a trade show. Long story short, I could have gotten all these engine powered tools brand new in the wrap with warranty and legit paperwork for $10,000, just the 10,000 watt generator listed for like $25,000

10,000 watt 4 wheel cart generator, welder, etc with 20' telescoping led work light.

5500 watt generator

Pressure washer

Mud pump

Contractor air compressor

I was so dejected that I didn't take some pics.

No, it was legit. Older non criminal type guy. Truck had Kohler stickers on it. He was wearing a Kohler polo and hat. Had legitimate invoice and tax paperwork and told me I'd have to talk to his boss before anything could be done. It was buy the big tool for $10,000 and get the rest for free, but I assume I'd have to fill out tax paperwork like the free tools would be income or something. I didn't ask the guy because I wasn't able to buy them and didn't want to waste his time.

So he is just following people around trying to give away free stuff but has to check with his boss before he can actually give away $10k worth of tools?

No. He had just stopped at the country water treatment plant that's just down the road from me. There's a few business type signs where our road is. He saw me pull in and thought I was affiliated with the businesses.

Any sale would go through his boss, not him. It wasn't a cash and carry deal. I think he was trying to find a business to sell them to vs an individual. It was a pickup truck, not a delivery truck.
