Bamachips still in business

Is anybody else waiting forever for a bamachips tuner I have had an order since oct 19. Nobody answers the phone or email

I hear nothing but good things but at this point I would be happy to just get my money back. At least I paid with paypal so I have a chance of seeing it again.

Doug has had more than a handful of personal issues. Last I knew, he and his wife were splittin because he committed himself to the business and she felt left out. He's been working with lawyers for custody of his son. He hired some guys to help out Bamachips and customer service went bad so they got booted... oh, and his mother has been battling breast cancer so he's trying to help her out and cover the bills. (yes, I'm waiting for a SCT tuner from him also) Try to contact him first before you get too upset. If contacting him does not help, then ask for your money back and try another programmer. Check out Rogueperformance.com if you are interested in another guy who custom tunes rangers.

I have tried to contact him but the phone is always off the hook and he does not respond to emails. Today is the last day I can file with Paypal I cannot just piss away 400 bucks for nothing.

I can appreciate that he has run into hard times but this is not a great time in the economy to piss off customers. I hear great things about his product and would rather have his tunes.

I sent him another email today kind of last chance before I have to file complaint with Paypal I will keep this updated.

IMO, don't count on paypal! Paypal will refund you but they may need some identification and some proof that you've been ... scammed. It may be a long progress but in the end if your case is strong enough they'll refund you.

I had the same problem, ordered in August and as of November he quit responding. File a BBB report and he will ship. At least it worked for me.

And yes, I am completely satisfied with what I got.

That's what I did, he then showed that my product had shipped on his website but 2 weeks later still no product. I asked for a tracking number and got no response, a week later I asked for a refund and still no response. I gave him 60 days to deliver a product and was as nice as I could be.

If he's having that many personal problems, then he needs to put his business on hold. Taking peoples money without providing a product is borderline criminal to me.

This I agree with. I don't like giving up $400+ and not know where my merchandise is. The only E-mail I've yet to recieve is an order conformation right after I purchased it.

I used paypal dispute and I did get my money back not the task is to get another tuner any suggestions that are not bamachips? IMO stay away from Bamachips unless you are willing to wait a few months at least.

If I were to get my money back From Bama, i was going to go with Henson Performance CLICKY. He's very popular on Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts "Serious Explorations" forum. I've spoken with him on the phone, he can do everything that Doug can do and more (he actually answers his phone and will deliver in a couple of days). Very nice guy, he will answer his phone.

While the subject is out here, might as well throw out what we're talking about for people who may not understand the topic.

If you make mods to your truck, they can be fine tuned via mail order. You give them a list of everything that you've done and they can program a hand held device that will "fine tune" your mods. One thing that is particularly nice is compensate the speedo for tire changes and shift points. I have 3 different tunes for mine, well 4 counting Stock. 89 Octane performance, 93 Octane Performance and 93 Octane torque. The difference between the performance and torque tune is the torque curve. If you're going to be towing, you would use the torque tune, for everyday driving use the performance. When I'm going long distances, I will be using the 89 performance for cheaper gas on the interstate.

I hate to see Doug getting such a bad rap, he was THE go to man for Ford Tunes, I wish things weren't as they are, but I can only call things as I see them.

Send a CERTIFIED LETTER from the USPS to his home address!!

Tell him your concerns and your intentions if he does not make things right!!!
Spend the couple extra bucks at the USPS so he HAS TO sign for the letter in person and you will get conformation of this from the USPS.

Make no mistake if you do NOTHING then NOTHING will happen,it's just that simple.
