:icon_confused:about 3 mo. ago i noticed my heater wasent gitting as hot as before, now yesterday my truck temp was a little high turned the heater no heat just vent
after scraching my head i turned the temp control to cold and damn i never felt my heater that hot before. and the heater bypass valve is working. if you can tell me how to make the hot, hot agin and the same w/ the cold, that would be very helpful.:icon_confused:

also after finding out the temp is backwards, that gave me the motavation to rip out my a/c pump, condencer, evaperator and lines.

um.... so because your controls were backwards you tore every thing out???

does your truck use electronic controls for the vents and stuff? if so, you probably had issues with that, not the actually heater core or anything along those lines...

I really hope you didn't vent your refrigerant to the atmosphere... even r-134a damages the Ozone...

and it costs money, if you took it to a shop you'd be able to re-use your old refrigerant (unless you didn't catch them trying to charge you for your old stuff, a guy tried that on me once... so I asked him for some paper and wrote him a bill for the refrigerant he took from me... he was all embarrassed and said it was a mistake... yeah right)... so the only cost would be oil and any added refrigerant to top off your system...

sooooo, yeah. is it electrical controls?

EDIT: could be a vacuum leak....

I wanted the a/c removed for space reasons, i have access to a/c equip. for the evac.
heat and vent conrtols are vac. powered also i have proper vac. to the switches. im really not shure if my problem is in the plenum or the controls.

also the only things i removed was a/c pump, condencer, evaperator and lines, my heater system is in tact and not messed with

well if/when you figure it out, I'd love to hear about it in this thread.
