Anyone Running A SuperLift 2000 To 2009??

TRUST ME when you put bigger tires you will want to gear up. iv got 3.73 gears and went from stock 255/70r16 to 265/75r16 and now i cant turn the tires over in second gear and lost about 50 miles off a take of gas. with 265 and 4.10 gears (stock on the FX4) wouldnt be that bad but if you up to 33s you will need to up your gear to keep the same power. oh yeah and i cant pull 5th gear up the hills on the interstate.

I will. Thanks.

A Superlift will lift an '09 4". Which is still not as high as lifting a pre-'08 4" because of the lower blocks and keys. The Superlift kit includes new rear blocks, so that doesn't matter, but it would be a good idea to swap to the factory '07-earlier torsion keys.

A torsion twist by itself on a stock truck will still not fit 33x12.50's. A narrower 33x10.50 or 285/75-16 will fit. To fit a wider 33x12.50-15 or 305/70-16 you will need either the Superlift kit or a 3" bodylift.

To keep the rpm vs. road speed close to stock you should swap to 4.56 gears, although if you have 4.10's and an automatic and don't tow anything, you could live with it.

I thought the super lift would not need the Keys, so thanks for the tip. I will call the wrecker today

I have the Standard. I hate autos.

Then you will want 4.56's at some point soon. First gear in a stick Ranger ain't all that low.

I am going to keep stock tire size untill they wear out. I do a lot of Hwy driving "road trips" and I like to get there fast 140km or 87mph.

Once they wear out then I mite up size to the tires that came on the Level II.

31x10.50-15 and you won't need new gears for that.

31's on a Superlifted truck? That's not going to look proportional at all. My truck has 31's on it now at stock height and they still look small...

The 31's on my truck are functional...They aren't the typical mall-terrains. The whole point behind lifting a vehicle is to fit larger tires which effectively gives the vehicle more ground clearance.

OTOH, it's your truck, do as you wish...

I need the height Not the tire size. Later I mite need tires but for right now it rubs the chassis, rear bumper and those stupid running boards on every time when I go offroad. The center line of the truck dose not hit on any of the trails I have taken yet. There are lots tank traps and trees fallen across the trails and old logging roads where I go.

Even with a suspension lift your axles aren't going to be higher off the ground unless you put larger tires on it.

That is what I said.

Center line clearence as in straight down the middle.

im running a 2008 4x4 sport with the 4 inch super lift kit and the pre 07 keys, currently running 3.73's with 285/75/R16 on the stock rims. i have 4.10's to install just waiting for the snow to clear here then i can also get the 33/12.5/15 trexus mts tires back on ... it is ok i guess the gas millage did not suffer to badly but low end grunt took a hit but ok by my standards. make sure you upgrade the front drive shaft or its a waist of time. you may also have a situation where the drive shaft will rub on your y pipe this was solved with a jba headers that pushed the y pipe down a half an inch. as for the extended sway bar links, they wear out in half a summer from new! major piss off. i am currently looking at fabing shock mounts for the lower a arms and frame to install 10 inch 2 inch body fox coil overs i will be making the build thread some time soon. as for the lift its self its ok for pavement and light wheeling. expect to modify alot if you wish to push it. :dunno:

That is good real world info on the lift kit. Thanks Prefab08.

I did order the drive shaft and everything else.

You dont happen to have a pic of the Y pipe rubing?
