Anyone install a locker in their RWD Ranger?

If you did, what was the reason? What type? Did it work the way you wanted it to?
I'm thinking if installing one for light trail use (not mud running) and snow in the Blue Ridge mountain area as well as around Henderson, NC.

Any experience thoughts on your locker time would help.

Right now my Ranger has 3.55 open diff.

You would be better served with a limited slip for what you are looking to do. Better road manners and less things to install for it to work. Lockers can put you into a good spin on slippery road. You can get a lot of places with an LSD, probably more than what you are looking to do. JM2C

One of my former techs put a Lockrite in his 97 Ranger, it got him home in the snow and during mud season but it sounded like it was grinding itself to death when he turned in the parking lot. He didn't mind the noise and drove it 160k.
