Another Ranger 5.0

Why not get the ecu for a manual?

There wasn't a manual V8 explorer, and any other ford 5.0 used a distributor. The explorers were the only ones that used coil packs. Unless I'm missing a vehicle.

Oh ok I didn't know that!

Thanks for the comments though! So far I haven't gotten many haha

Not a problem!
I've heard of people on here having their ecu's reprogramed. I can't remember who they were though.

I've seen that you use a f550 master cylinder on your ranger,I bought the same one but my pedal is still soft what it can be?

Did you make sure to bench bleed the master cylinder first? Then also bleed the entire system again once it is in the truck? These master cylinders are a b**** to bleed in the truck.

I ordered an SCT X4 tuner, supposed to be a really nice piece. I'm getting antsy and have to wait for monday for it to be delivered. I also ordered a tune from Henson performance who says they can remove the CEL's for the auto trans. I haven't done much besides installing a new radio since my last post. But I have logged quite a few miles on the swap and it is still running great!

Was gonna ask you what your ecu code was, but henson can take care of you...

SVT

It's throwing codes:
P0750
P0755
P0720
P0708
P0743
P0708

All transmission related since I am running a ZF5 and not the stock auto.

My X4 came today! Pretty excited but I now have to wait for a tune to be written. Comes in a sweet box and is a really nice piece of hardware. The only thing I would like to see is it weighing a little more. Light can be nice but often makes me feel like it is cheap. My iPhone weighs more even though it's a quarter the thickness.

Got my tune today and loaded it in! No more CEL and it runs much better. No more misses and better idling. I recommend Henson for any tuning you need done.

What was the price and what info did you have to give them?

I found a new unit on ebay that was a display item at an event I guess for 335 (normally 400) then bought a tune from Henson for 75.

This is the info he needed

1)Modifications: Single 3" exhaust and glasspack after Cats, now has a manual transmission (trying to get rid of check engine lights related to no longer having an auto trans).
2)Device Serial#: ..........
3)Desired Octane: 93
4)Vehicle Year: 1999
5)Vehicle Make: Ford
6)Vehicle Model: Explorer
7)Engine Size: 5.0L
8)# of Cylinders: V8
9)Read Strategy: ...........

Awesome thanks!
