Another new minty gem

I picked this up last week. My step daughter is 13 and wants a truck real bad...she is super excited!

Good thing she won't need it for a while because it is REALLY bunged up. Don't let looks deceive you here... the guy I got it from said he took it out wheeling and dragged it through some really big rocks. The truck landed on one just right and it broke the transmission tailhousing. The t-case ejected itself so it's kinda bunged up too and I am fairly certain that the transmission output shaft is bent. Most of the CV joint on the front driveshaft is gone, there is a huge dent in the front crossmember under the steering rack, some wiring is destroyed, and the interior is totally filthy. Also...it does not run very well... like it has a dead cylinder, and starts really hard. Radiator is empty and full of rust. All that is fine, if it needs heads I have a new set by a very weird twist of fate. Does have brand new tires and came with a nice aluminum tool box so I guess there's that.

Good thing I will have the 2 door Explorer out of the shop here soon, this may be occupying a stall for quite a while.

My wife & I got this POS pushed inside a few weeks ago where I can work on it. My daughter has been cleaning the seats - they are very gross - I took the carpet to the car wash and pressure washed it. It's 90% better. It was literally leaking brown shit. I left it out in the rain on my car trailer and there was a puddle of brown liquid under where it drained. Clean enough now.

Haven't pulled the trans yet but I did go in halvsies on a 93 Explorer with my buddy. He wanted the motor and stuff to 4.0 swap his B2 and it had a bad 5 speed. Fine, I just need the output shaft and tailhousing. I got that taken apart. The input shaft broke and took out the countershaft. Bummer but I have enough parts to build a good one now without disassembling another good one. I got the case pressure washed this evening. Got to try out a "turbo" nozzle. That thing is the shit for cleaning stuff, I cannot believe how clean it got with just cold water.

Transmission is out. It was a nasty greasy muddy mess under the truck. I washed it up just if I need to use the case for some reason. The fluid was really black but there weren't any chunks when I drained it and the input shaft has not a lot of slop...soooo... hoping for some good parts. The output shaft is definitely bent.
