Guys, I am a brand new 1993 Ford ranger owner with a 3.0. It has about 97k on it. Got the truck from my dad's friend who told him a mechanic said the MAF sensor was bad. Truck will run when the MAF is unplugged. As soon as you plug it in, the engine dies. I bought a new remanufactured MAF sensor from Autozone. Put it on and the same thing happens. I have spent couple hours on here reading all I can.
I have read the the IAC could be dirty - where is it located exactly?
I have read the air filter hose could be tore up causing the MAF to cause the fuel to shut off. it doesn't appear torn up.
Would having plugs, wires, dist cap, and rotor button replaced help?
Any suggestions are really appreciated, I'm at a loss. I don't know anything about ford rangers or 3.0's.
