Another FW 78/79 dana 44 swap

Well I thought TREs would be the best easy way . Got another end from O'reilly's auto parts for $20 . Not as nice as the one from ruff stuff but should work . Just need to drill it out and ream it . Part # ES2233L .

Got the knuckles cleaned up and ready for new TRW ball joints .

what are you going to do about the big ass hole in the bottom?

I have full hydro steering and the only issue I had with a heim was bending a 3/4" shank with a cheaper heim. I run the QA1's now and have not had an issue, noise, or worn teflon in the last year.

Lol .... in the knuckle:icon_confused:

yes. If you ream out the hole in the top, how to fill up the gap that will be in the bottom of the knuckle

That may be due to the fact its a trail rig. I think mine wear out so fast due to driving it all the time

I've got a heim at the axle end of my trac bar. I'm sure having the bushing at the frame helps, but mine is still quiet after 2.5 years of DD duties.

Hey trail rig, do you happen to still have your d35 with the d44 nuckles? would you be willing to let them go?

Thinking about getting some more parts .

What do you guys think about Stage 8 hub nuts ?

What about running SS braided lines to the center of the axle and then one line going up to the engine crossmember ?

Would take these 3 parts to do it .

I was over on Lynch about 30 min ago, I almost stopped by.

Jay has the stage 8's, by far the best design yet, get em, you won't regret it....As far as the brake lines, talk to John, he knows someone locally to him that makes em for cheap...

I used these.

Drill the whole out to a inch and weld these in to get taper the right way.
Thanks for the link . But I don't know , I might wait and do that later . Should be just as easy to do that later when I have more time and money .

Yeah, I'm tired of that old torque nut crap . Should be money well spent . Don't know if I would save much after driving to get them . Plus these are no engineering involved .

Got the ball joints pressed in and knuckles halfway installed . And took the old coil buckets out .

Need to order or make a socket to fit the upper ball joint sleeve . It needs to be torqued to 70 ftlbs .
