Another coolant leak plea....

Well, supposedly the truck is ready, I had it towed to a shop yesterday.... They called this morning and said the thermostat housing wasn't seated all the way and that was the issue... I explained that I could believe that since I'm the one who replaced it but don't see how that could have caused the original issue.... Owner said he'd drive it around a bit and make sure all was good and they did use the machine to test out the pressure... I'll be going at 8am in the morning to pick it up, I trust the shop but I have my doubts on the issue being fixed..... 125 for the tow, 65 for the shop labor of reseating the housing and putting a new O-ring. on it :ROFLMAO:

Glad you found the leak. I had a small leak around the passenger side not long ago and it ended up being the heater bypass valve. Which unfortunately is now the third one I've installed.

The issue is fixed, no longer overheating.... Life lessons must be learned even at my age (41).... Hard to say now but I suspect it was the small hose going from the housing to the water pump.... Went I took the housing off I noticed it had a split in it so it was replaced at the same time......

To anyone that might find this through a search for something where I truly made my mistake was ASSUMING it was the thermostat and just tearing into to it..... I should have. first putting some water in it and seeing what I could see... Not saying it would have worked or solved my problem but it would have been a quick task... Don't be like me and put the cart before the horse
