Almost definitely getting a Focus

Back when my ranger needed to pass smog I couldnt get it to pass. After the third temp license expired I got yanked for expired tabs. The reason I couldnt get the waiver was I was about $30 short on the cost of a certified mechanics work performed. The next year It was exempt from smog being 25 yrs old cost about $500 for nothing the next year I did the duraspark conversion complete for $250 and driving it ever since. Now you have to watch the speedo I know with mine 35mph feels feels like i`m crawling. Thank god for cruise. I just sit back and enjoy the ride I dont need any more tickets.

kimcrwbr1, I'm sorry but huh? I get the I mentioned getting pulled in my ranger for a dead tag and how awesome it is that I don't pay taxes or have to emissions test my ranger, but other than that why you posted that^ confuses me buddy. I did have an early night at work and I've had a few, but I am currently confused?

Congrats!

:icon_thumby::icon_cheers: Have fun with it.

I just tried to take a few they look like crap. I actually paid auto bell to wash it because I'm feeling real lazy today, as I left for there I made the statement to my fiance, since I'm actually washing something I own it's gonna rain. Not 5 minutes after leaving the car wash it's now raining..... So that makes for crappy pics..... If it's sunny tomorrow pics will happen. But heads up it's nothing at all fancy. Stock as can be. Except for the glass pack and chrome tip that makes me feel like everybodies staring at me lol.

All I was saying with my focus it is hard to judge how fast I am going. I use the cruise control alot for speeding ticket prevention. Here in WA if you get three moving violations within five years your license gets suspended. And you have to get a SR22 to get your license back. I lose my job if that happens I am sitting on two strikes now. sorry if i confused you.

Ahhhhhh I gotcha. Yeah I've been driving this one a bit and the first time I got on the interstate I looked down and I was clicking past 80 lol. I'm jealous I don't have cruise lol. I was confused because I thought you were talking about your ranger.

And guys weather says it'll be sunny so pics are happening in the AM

When I start working on it tomorrow I'll try to remember to take some pics and maybe start a build thread but it'll be built SLOW. I'm starting with easy stuff , fluid changes, maybe some plugs, I may try to pull apart the "lifetime" filter to see if I can use the parts to make my own intake I don't want to lose torque with a short ram but the "stealth" DIY i've seen puts it a little far down for my liking making me nervous about water ingestion. If I can't come up with a good mid length system I feel confident in, I'll just go with an aftermarket CAI I suppose. But the stocker HAS to go, I've seen way to many rats nests in intake tracts to believe I never need to look at it:annoyed: And seen a heck of alot of vacuum filter minders that don't work, won't work anyway if a rat chews a hole through the media so it'll never stop up:shok:

I'm planning to use this as my road trip vehicle so it'll be getting a good sound system but I'm wondering if anyone makes an adapter to hook a 3.5mm input jack to the stock radio? That way it can be more stealthy since it isn't alarmed or anything.

Just joined focus fanatics, their info seems easier to find than other sites so I'll begin my stalking/info gathering there:icon_thumby:

Nice. Check out the hatch nation section on FF. I'm over there, same sn.

Thanks dude, I haven't seen you yet on FF but I've been looking through the site. It's a little jumbled and alot of the "how-to" links are dead which is a bummer. But overall I like it. I don't see a place for new members like our Introductions section? Man it'll be a while before I could join hatch nation if I gotta have 500 posts first lol. I've been here since 09' and I still don't have that many and I actually know my way around rangers pretty well..... Been so busy at work I haven't even had time to change the oil in the new car so nothing new to update yet.

I haven't been posting much over there as my Focus is down.

Which how to links aren't working?

No worries, closest I saw is somebody over there has a quote of yours in their siggy. A few in the duratec performance how to sticky as well as some in the general "look here first" ya dumb newb sticky, it's full of potentially useful links but several are dead. I've been looking for an air intake the most and several links have been dead but I couldn't tell you one in particular one as I've been all over the place. . For example I'm trying to find out if a short ram on the focus would kill my torque and/or if the CAI's do have a real problem with water ingestion (used to trucks I may forget to watch for puddles) but most of the threads on intakes discuss sound more so than other stuff. I'm also having trouble finding a solid place to get parts from but that could just be me cause I'm not the most internet savvy. I do like FF as it seems to have alot of useful info and the threads I look at even if they are rediculous questions somebody answers it without too much heat.
