The truck drives normal in both stop n go and highway driving. However, I've learned a disturbing thing. In a situation that I need to take off quickly, I rev up and engage the clutch. It lunges forward like you would expect, then hesitates for a moment like it's going to stall, then continues onward. That can be a bit disconcerting when a dog is coming at you. A dog on the front of a Mack truck that is. Any ideas?

Is this truck completely stock? Stock rearend stock size rear tires? Any added weight in the bed? The reason I ask, the 2.3 is not known as a powerhouse. Sounds like you are using the stored power from the flywheel from revving it and popping the clutch, and once that is used up you are back to the power output of the 4 cylinder, which is not much.

Yep.

Just hoping it isn't something else to chase down and fix.
