A friend is looking at buying a ranger for a daily. I'll post up some pics of the listing. Fill me in on some known things to be aware of you would guys please and thank you.

The powertrain is definitely Ranger. The interior trim and exterior panels are going to be different. Their mileage will vary on what will universally fit between a Ranger and a B3000. If they don't plan to do a lot of modification, it will serve them well. With anything, go over it with a fine toothed comb. Look for rust and neglect. Ask about routine maintenance without prompting them. If they say "all they had to do was change the oil", don't walk, RUN!
 
Given you're in Ohio, checking the frame for rust is instinctive.

It might be an odd thing, but I'd ask if the O2 sensors have been changed. If they've been changed out, it points to the little tings being paid attention to,
