nice chin stash! lol. like the look of the older rangers. so your truck was white now its black correct? just curious if you painted yourself? always seeing how people paint their trucks. did my grille and its ok. i know some roll paint on others spray.

Might I ask for an explanation of a 3/4 4cyl? I'm assuming it is either regularly overloaded, or is running on 3 out of 4?

puttin in that engine was a botch, and anywho, For the racks, I have a B2 door we can cut the sides off of to make a spacer for both of the hinge mounts. I can also get 2 brackets to lock them in place.

OK, so I have a set of Pacesetter headers, a factory Y-pipe that was cut down to work with them, but has now rusted through at the flange. I also had to notch and heat the pipes up at the other end to get the whole thing apart so that I could actually put it in.

My options as things stand are to:

1) cut the flange off the custom Y-pipe, clean up the top end a bit, and then sleeve clamp it and build a true dual custom system the whole way back

2) cut down my other factory y-pipe to match the now damaged one and run my existing hodge-podge exhaust system

or

3) get some pipes and start building a custom dual system.

I am currently leaning towards cutting down one of the two y-pipes and building a dual system with a pair of staggered universal fit 3-way cats. Not sure what I'd do for mufflers yet.

So, ideas?

My truck has always been black. I also own a white 88 that looks very very similar, but will be selling it to Kip once I get it up to par with PA safety laws.

Haha, that was supposed to say "3/4 ton 4 cyl". I just edited it.

So after getting frustrated at what will probably be a multi-day lack of appropriate parts, and what will then (if my the current trend holds) probably be several more days of weather too crappy to work in, I decided to take more stuff apart.

Truck makes a much nicer club house with the steering column out. Much roomier in the driver's seat.

Gets even better with the whole dash out. Wish I had more red in there now though.

But at least I had lots of room to work on the clutch pedal.

Think I finally figured out why the later-style neutral switch would never fit now.

Slowly.

The new engine works well except for it gets a dead miss after a while and it's getting worse. Pretty sure the ignition pickup is shot. Gonna throw a recently rebuilt dizzy that I have laying around at it tomorrow.

Just worked a deal with CountryBoy to buy a dual-piston caliper and manual hub kit for the D-35 from him. The axles are the next step in this build, also gonna be the biggest expense left aside from the body work.

Got set back a bit though. Had to put new tires on the B2. Tires cost almost what I paid for the vehicle.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh memories!!!!!

Pedals cut & bent & welded....

Wires either too short or too long....

switches that have to be turned around & put in backwards..

etc.................. :icon_rofl: :yahoo: :icon_bounceblue:
