Just got my new ranger with the standard radio (2 speakers). I replaced the radio with one from my previous Ranger which has 4 speakers. I saw the harness had wires for all 4 speakers. Casually looking at the holes for the rear speaker mounts I didn't see any wires. Can someone tell me where to pick up access to the rear speaker wires?

Your best bet is to get some 16-14 gauge speaker wire and running it from the speaker locations to behind the radio.

this would be the best bet....Walmart sells it for like $15 bucks for a roll of 100 ft i think.

yeah, i have a 2008 xl ranger too and mine didnt come with rear speakers or wires. i pulled up the carpet on the drivers side and ran some speaker wire underneath to the rear of the cab. best way to do it.

Is there a harness to plug into or do I have to slice wires?

the harness should already have wires if its an aftermarket radio....just splice em together.

Actually, I meant the factory harnesses. If rear speaker wires are coming out of the radio connector they must go somewhere.

most likely theyre buried way down in the paneling...you would have to remove the entire back paneling in the truck to find them. i ran into this a few times at work when i was adding speakers to an xl without rears. i ended up just running wires to the back of the radio because it was easier than ripping the entire truck apart

Rear Speaker Wires End Under Driver's Seat 2008

Rear Speaker Wires End Under Driver's Seat. On my 2008 Ext Cab with no factory rear speakers I traced the rear speaker wires to a connection block that has a dozen wires going in (including the speaker wires) and only six coming out(not speaker wires). This is under the carpet under the driver's seat. Made my speaker connections there. Will probe the other wires for possible hot connection for dome map light.

Worked on the Metuchen, NJ Chassis Line in 1974. That would be a T in the number 11 place of the VIN for pre-2002 rangers.
