So I have the 4 inch rough country suspension lift and want extended radius arms and I see some kits without a custom cross member. My question is do some kits not need a new crossMember or what’s the deal I’ve been trying to find instructions but the arms in particular are the skyjacker red ones, tuff country, or pro comp ones that don’t come with a cross member and not require crazy fab work like that. I like the idea of not having to mess with that .......please enlighten me!!!!

Is there a reason you don't want to use the Skyjacker arms and cross member? It's not a difficult swap.

Well I don’t exactly have the most tools and not too familiar with welding if there’s any instruction links or any advice on the whole process?? and would doing this cause the need for extended brake lines? I know I can get it done right and do what ever it takes but it sounds nice not having to mess with it

There's no welding involved with the SJ kit. The new crossmember replaces the trans crossmember. You just have to grind/drill the rivets off and use the existing holes. Depending on the year, you may have to drill a couple extra holes.

Sweet man thanks ?? But are there any kits that don’t come with new cross members because I see some without what’s up with that

IDK. I ran the Skyjacker arms on my Ranger then swapped the lift into my Explorer. I never tried the other arms.
I can tell you that anything you find will at least have brackets to mount to the frame... you can't make the arms longer and still mount them to the same location on the frame. The only thing that mounts to the stock location are drop brackets.

Have you thought about a heim option? Or heard of one like that

Well it seems like it would be easier to go without messing with it because I can always make something happen but if it’s not recommended to run without relocating it I’ll suck it up

"extended" radius arms can not mount to the original frame location because they are too long. That's why the Skyjacker kit gives you new brackets and transmission mount that all fit together in one nice neat assembly. The design of those 3 pieces ( 2 brackets plus cross-member) provides a good mounting place for the radius arms and the cross-member ties the brackets together for added strength.
