I have a lowered '83 2wd ranger. Most of the time I don't really load the box full of anything even remotely heavy.
If I load something kinda heavy, which would probably cause it to rub, I would like to add air bags to avoid this in the rear only.
Your thoughts would be appreciated, also there would be no onboard tanks, etc. It would be a manual air up only.
Does anyone have any recommended companies for picking up a set of air bags on the cheap?

Firestone ride rite bags no oboard air needed mine have never lost air on me yet bout 300$
But from the use I have gotten from them and continue to get is worth it came as a whole kit brackets bolts line fittings everything bought mine from summit racing beware when they are aired up and your empty it rides real rough a few times I thought I was gonna lose a kidney

Man I'm very interested in info for this also . Mines a 94 though with a 5.0 . Please update when figured out .[emoji106]?

Air shocks would probably be cheaper, but they may not give you as much lift.

What do you think would rub, and where? How low is the truck?

Well not trying to h/j the op thread but I'm setting at 4/6 . Right now am only about 1 1/2 inches from frame with out a notch . I'm doing the notch in the next few weeks. I used the expo leafs (expo has 4 , stock had 3 ) with expo rearend and have shackles flipped . With the notch I'll gain a lot of space , but it's not a big notch . It's ride great right now besides the occasional frame hit on big bumps . I do plan on towing and hauling light stuff around town /to the track in the future . And would like it not to SAG if possible .
