asked in the general discussion board but got nothing so here I am.

1996 2.3 ranger with no factory a/c

what all is involved??

I know I'll probably need the evap core and housing since mine isnt even tapped from the factory. also, I know I need the condensor, all lines, compressor and dryer.

is it pre-wired under the dash or am I going to need a dash harness from an a/c truck??

I added ac to my 97 and the dash wiring was there. I just plugged in the ac heat control panel. If I recall correctly, I did need to add the harness for the compressor. I changed to evap / heater housing. It was easier to swap it out than try and drill and modify the original housing. You will probably want to make sure you get the correct year parts. I used junkyard parts from a 98, and they work fine, but the condenser is wider and I had to modify things a bit to make it fit.

I have 98 parts but no 4 cyl parts. I have the evap & housing, the heater box & control and the compressor. You would still need the condensor, lines & possibly wiring. Let me know if interested.
