AC Positive Pressure test to find leaks?

I know next to nothing about AC, but isn't the low side and high side seperated by the pump and a small oriface? So if the pump isn't turning both sides would equalize thru that small oriface? In that case I don't think pressure up to the high side limit would hurt...
I am as much of a rookie as you are so I think you are right on the money here. By definition both side will equalize at static. so both sides need to be able to hold a decent amount of pressure. as stated before on a 90* day that static pressure should be around 100 psi. the pressure roughly equals the ambient temps. So both sides should be able to hold that higher pressure. When running the system can generate very high pressure on the high did but turn the car off and that pressure is disapted across the system and thus equalized to around the ambient temp number. So I plan to pressurize the system to about 100 or 120 and start squirting the soapy water and listening. I just pray it is not the evap.

I forgot about it equalizing, yesterday was a long day. I still probably wouldn’t go over 100 psi chasing leaks. I’m not sure at what point the burst disk lets go
