I have a 94 Ranger 4x4 with an A4LD that has a harsh 1-2 upshift. I've read lots of different threads online about 1-2 shifts but most are talking about the RPMs going really high before shifting. My truck doesn't go above normal RPMs but when it does shift it feels rough. I don't have any other transmission issues.
I found an old service bulletin that recommends replacing the intermediate servo release accumulator spring in the valve body with an updated part. I also read it could be the governor. I don't have much experience with this transmission and was looking for some advice before I start replacing parts.
I have checked the fluid and it looks pretty clean. Motor and transmission mounts look ok. Its not my driveshaft because I have checked and lubed it already. And I adjusted bands according to spec and it did not change at all.
