About the chrome, i kind of like the painted look tho. Instead of the chrome bumpers everyone has. My truck would look great if i could get the body all back to rust and dent free, paint her black again, and have stuff like the billet grill also black. I like the black and red theme tho so if i can find a decent way to incorperate that into the truck i will. Would love to get the truck repainted with the stock decals on the sides painted on...

So i went out to the truck today to show you the "box thingy" icon_rofl that broke when the fender pushed into it. Lol the rad coolant seemed to not be broken, but the washer fluid part at least was broken and one of the clips holding it up broke off. lol Heres some pics so you know which "bos thingy" im talking about

On yes another side-note... Is there something i would want to clean out before putting on new parts? Anything i can really do now? lol

who cares about having odd color fender, just spray bomb it black for the time being. better than a green fender lol. and you should try to fix the bedsides you have just cut out hte old rust and hell if you wanted just rivet in some tin over it for a temporary fix and bondo it over unless you got access to a welder

No welder... And my rust situation is a bit gorey... Ill get pics tomorow when its day out again

And andres, do you have a coolant/washer fluid box i could have as well? Its fine if you dont have an extra, ill just find out where i can order it in lol. But if its going to be a 200 dollar part for a bit of plastic... lmao

Bedsides can be a pain. You have to get your bed liner out (if you have one), pop the top rails off, and drill out the spot welds along the top IIRC.`

yeah welding is required. i dunno though you might get away with self tapping screws until you can get it welded somewhere. either way you have alot of spot weld drilling to do and it is a pita. i think it was stacey david done it on Trucks on tv and i wouldnt wanna try it. either way id be more worried about getting the front clip fixed up first. either way keep us posted on what happens. really hope you get her fixed and back on the road. if not keep her there, when i come up to alberta with my brother ill give ya 500 for it if you have it lol

Dunno if they are available up there, but I decided it would be easier to just find a rust free box and switch beds.

Boxsides are not particularly cheap, or easy to change.

I was just thinking of ordering them in so after i get it driveable, while im still kinda doing stuff i would replace them too. I was thinking that the odds of me findign a decent box up here are slim. And anyone with a decent box isnt going to let it go for cheap lol.

Maybe i can see if the shop teacher in my school will let me bring it in on lunches or something dumb lol. I was stupid enough to get bored of trying to MIG weld stuff and dropped the class last semester. And its a double class where i need to take both semesters or nothing lol.

Either way, the fronts getting done. Just gotta wait on parts and such. As far as getting it back on the road, im sure i could just put some new lights back on and pull the bumper out and be good. Then its legal lol. She still runs good, started it today and moved it up a bit for better parking. Altho i should really replace that broken box because there is some chance that theres a crack leading into the coolant portion of it. Not that i could see without unhooking it, and its holding all the liquid

Well for starters, the bumper I have is chrome. With tan trim cause its from an Eddie Bauer. And the headlight bezels are chrome too, just FYI. Also, don't have a second gen washer fluid/coolant tank, have a first gen one though. I'll take the one off my Ranger and see if the first gen one bolts in place.

Daven, you should be able to get a box... there are lots in the pick n pull here... usually 3+ at a time

as for the coolant/washer res, it's a little getto, but you could use a 2L pop bottle (soda for the rest of you)

Im sure i wouldnt have much problem finding one. Just was seeing if he had it instead of me buying a new one or whatever.

And you can paint chrome easily enough right? lol I wish i had a good box to swap over. Once i get some money i am goign to put a wanted add up around here
