A very... very... sad turn of events... :/

Damn... that sucks... Well i guess im definately doign it myself :/

So about these old parts getting removed... wont they be rusted on from the years of dealing with the weather and all that crap? Will i need a special tool for this?

the fenders and front clip parts are pretty weather protected (from the hood of the truck and grill) so you wont have any trouble getting those off. the bed might not be as easy, youll need a T55 socket for the bolts on there.should be 6 of them, they might be a bit harder but you should still be able to get them out. just unscrew the filler neck and unplug the taillight harness and lift the bed off. ive done it myself before by rolling the old one off to the side, then rolling the other one on.

Im not going to try for the bed replacement now, first thing is getting it driveable again lol. And i dont have a bed to swap right now, where i apearantly can get the front end stuff minus the fender for free. So ill just need a basic socket set kind of thing? Any advise on anything like this? Since i need to replace the lights and such i may as well get aftermarkets. Think clears would look better than stock with my black and red truck?

You won't need to remove the bed unless you find a good, non-rusty one. The hardest part to remove will be the bumper, and it'll just take a little muscle. It's not really a big undertaking, and we're all here for you to ask questions. Also, talk to the girl that hit you. See what she's paying as a deductible to get your truck fixed, and just get her to give that to you instead.

P.S.- Lights will be coming with the parts. :icon_thumby:

i was just letting him know that for when he do try to remove it as he said in an earlier post. and no special tools will need to be used besides just sockets and a few screwdrivers. if you run in to any troubles you can send me a pm and id be glad to help you along. sad thing is i just cut up a good 2nd gen grill, i was gonna make a billet grill out of it for mine but it would of been better if i sent it to you free of charge. if i come across any other parts that look like they may be some use to you ill let you know for sure and ill send them out to you

You are going to want a fender from a Ranger, 89-92. They are different than the Explorer. I think a B2 fender (89-90) is the same as the Ranger too.

EDIT: A brand new one is 34 US dollars here, try and find a Certifit dealer up there.

Thanks alot guys. You think i should consider something of a prerunner fender since im doing it already? I am thinking that they would be way to round for the boxy style of gen 2s... but the extra clearance would be nice. Probably not going to lol Just seeing what aftermarket mods i was kinda wanting to do anyways lol

And no worries Boggin, i apreciate the thought :) Beggers cant be choosers :icon_twisted:

And what do you mean about the whole deductable thing? Is that actually a good idea to do or will this get us screwed over? And doesnt she have to pay the deductable either way? I thought she had to pay the 700 bucks and that would cover mine and her car? Lol But hey, not like i know anything about this :P

I would love to find a decent box, but thats a little scarce i would think. Ill keep my eyes open and see what turns up. You said theres fenders for that cheap here? WHERE?! lol :P

Stock ones right?

Also, on a side note... Does anyone know where i could possibly get some kind of solid front bumper for my truck? No clue even if companies make them, just notice that alot of people make their own and it seems like a very good investment... Especailly if this incident were ever to happen again haha :icon_idea: Like the big thick steel ones (or whatever they make them out of)

EDIT: Or would i be better off with a stock bumper and some kind of push bar?

While it is a cheaper alternative, a push bar will not help you at all in an accident. In some cases they even cause more damage when they get pressed into the truck.

In a car to car accident it will mangle your frame rather than the bumper... kind of a lose-lose.

Lol i thought that. So anyone know anything about the solid bumpers? im sure that would help :P

I went after school to some shop here and they said from 70-80 bucks to get a new fender. So thats in the plans. What sucks is putting on these new parts, they will be a different colour. Lol like if the parts Andres gives me and green... Ill have a black and red truck... With green front end stuff... and a primer fender lmao. And i dont really want to paint anything untill i get good boxsides. Could i just order in new box-sides and put them on instead of finding a whole box? Im sure theres not many rangers my year with decent rust.

Billet grille would look good hey? Found one on ebay for under 70 bucks, free shipping. Thinking maybe of when i paint the truck too i would paint the grill black or maybe red if i could kind of get a "chome-y" look :P

Overall im going for the black with red (same red as stock decals) theme. But i dont have a place to paint and obviously am not at that paint yet lol

Dude I rearended a girl once, and then we went out for beers. I rearended her again. Life is good. You should ask her out.
