A very... very... sad turn of events... :/

what you're looking for is a plate bumper, there are lots of people here in calgary that can make them for you, if you are serious about getting one, i can talk to a couple friends of mine and get you an estimate for yours, you want front and back? and how-solid steel? different thicknesses are going to cost different amounts...

Well it'll have to wait a few weeks to get together some money. Still in the middle of gathering up parts and such. But im on the whole do it right the first time thing.

Idk much about what i will want lol. I just want a solid bumper that wont bend and can actually stand up to some abuse, while it looking good. Im not looking for one of the ones that have bars up into lights like a brush gaurd, but a push bar kind of thing built in would be sweet lol, so long as it wont bend in and eff up my rad in such an event that its needed anyways.

Do you have a general idea on a price for that? Also, how much more work is it to get it to be able to mount a winch on it?

Personally on a street driven vehicle a bumper than can properly absorb an impact is ideal.

A bumper with no give would have killed your truck on the spot. If the bumper won't give it just keeps pushing things until it finds something that will... and nothing will total truck (even a new one) faster than a bent frame. For the hit your truck took, you DS frame rail would have been hosed with a solid well made bumper bolted to it.

i'm not too sure how much... and yes a winch is easy to put on... the bumpers would be fully custom so you can get what ever you want put on it...

Well in your guy's opinions, what type of bumper would be best for my truck? Its my DD, and later on will at least be my winter beast with another car for summers. Its not a dedicated rig by any means, but its my toy and i definately plan to do some offroading. I guess that being said, i dont really need the strongest bumper i could get... But i definately would want something that wont bend at least much. And after the last incident thought it would have been nice if the bumper stayed perfect :P

I guess its way better to bend a bumper than the frame tho lol Lemme know what you guys think. I still kind of like the design of that bumper i showed a link to before. Anyone have custom bumpers on their gen 2 rangers that they could post a pic of?

Kinda like the look of this... Any ideas?
