So I have a 98 ford ranger 2.5 and the front right suspension is shot. I just put brand new upper and lower ball joints on it. I want to put new springs and shocks on the front too. I want something that is stock height, and close to stock ride. If I could get a little more of a stiff ride but still stay close to stock. Anyone know any good options. Thanks guys!

Anyone? Is this the wrong section?

This is a little over my head, would you mind explaining a little more? I'll do some more research on what set up I need as well. Do you know what stock set up is so I have something to base my search off of. Will I have to. It the shock and spring separate or is there a coil package? Thanks for the help alwayfloored, I have a sagging right shock that makes a squeaking noise anytime I hit a small bump

Also my ride so very scary at this point, and I'm not sure if it's from my shock issue. Every time I hit a pot hole or a bump going over 40 the truck slides back and forth like I'm on snow. I just replaced upper and lower ball joints and that don't seem to help. So all I can think of at this point is shock.

you can remove the front shocks easily without jacking the truck up. pull that one off and see if has any resistance. should collapse in a couple of seconds, take a few more seconds to extend.
check the tie rods, both inner and outer ends.
what do the bushings look like on the upper and lower control arms?

Upper ball joints and control arms and lower ball joint were just replaced. I Know the right shock is done because it is it sqweeks very loud when I go over a bump. I was driving today with a bunch of wood in the bed and the truck did not slide around as much in the front. I don't know if that helps find out what my problem is.
