Howdy, My kids blew the rear speakers in my '98 Ranger and I want to replace them with some 5 &1/4 " speakers. They're 4 ohm though, and I couldn't find any factory specs on my radio/cd player concerning watts per channel and/or the ohm load for the spkrs. Nothing hi/fi or high tech here, just need some numbers so we don't fry the player next. thanks, mc ranger 17

It is an analog amplifier so you will be fine with 4 ohm speakers, and I believe 4 ohms was spec in any case.
You can check front speaker ohms, or the rear if the coils are not separated, with a regular OHM meter, while not super accurate for speakers, you will be able to tell if a speaker is 4 ohm or 8 ohm by the reading.
