Do 97 Rangers have IFS or I-Beam suspension? Also, what brake upgrades are out there for Rangers? Do the rear ends (8.8) have the same track width as a Fox Mustang? Thanks.

If you search quick you could find all your answers and then some, but the 97 will be ttb or as some call it I-beam, and if you do an explorer 8.8 swap you get disc brakes and 31 spline axles and it can be done for under $200 usually

What are you working on? In the past 4 months you've asked about a 2001, a 1994, and now a 1997. Different things can be done to each.

As shortzt said all your questions (for each thread) have already been answered you just got to look for it.

97 is the last year of beams. TIB (twin I beam) for 2wd, or TTB (twin traction beam) for 4wd. A few upgrades are possible but nothing out of a box or kit, its well covered in tech library and brake section of forum. Track width is not the same, better options available that are near bolt in.

'95-'97 had the best of the front brakes, rears are the same. They'll be plenty for anything the axles can handle.
