97 F-350 Powerstroke Tow Rig (Non-RBV)

hauled my first load with her tonight , she is kinda sluggish (what can i expect from a 7500 pound rig towing 5000 pounds of trailer and equipment) , but she did fairly well , the load i haule was our 87 JD 850 Compact Tractor with the boxgrader on the back , i had to tow it from the house to the farm , about 5 miles , i still have to hook up the brake controller

here is a pic of the truck and the load

i can't wait to chip her , add stacks , and fix my exhaust manifolds

got my second load on the trailer , we are still deciding what to do with it , it is a 93 Subaru Loyale , 1.8 H4 , 5 Speed , Selectable 4x4 , needs a fuel pump , got parked in 03 for that reason , still has air in the tires 7 years later , underside is clean , fuel pump cost 188 , may need other things too , does need front end work since i hit it with the tractor

while i was loading it up , 4 soft tires , straight pull with a 3k pound electric winch , pulling on a sheetmetal skid plate and it came right up the ramps

it is surpisingly clean for having sat for 7 years , i have to clean and air out the interior , it stinks bad , i want to talk my stepdad in to letting me build a track with jumps and all

well i picked up a freebie for her , just need to find some amber domes for it , anyone know where i can get some ?

i want that light bar!

now that i think about it 02 , it is a speaker for the siren , not sure if it will work as a PA

got my subi off the trailer , we are gonna fix this thing up , i am gonna rally it and wheel it , it is pretty cool

i would be careful with that light bar. out here in California code 3 lights have to be covered if they are not on an emergency vehicle or a vehicle that does lots of roadside recoveries. service and tow trucks can get away with amber lights like that but red or blue are perty much for emergency vehicles only to help them be recognized in traffic. I looked into it for my tow truck and being that it is privately owned i still have to cover them.

well it came off an old ambulance , that is why it has red covers , i am trying to locate a set of amber lenses for it , out here only emergency vehicles and fire chief's run red lights , firefighters run blue lights and towing and recovery vehicles run yellow lights

and i finally got my charging system issue solved , turns out it had a broken wire going to the voltage regulator
