hey guys i need help here i just put 22 inch rims on my truck and it was working fine for a week or so and now driving back from work i noticed that when i pressed the gas my rpms would shoot up and my truck wouldnt pick up speed what is the problem? please help should i park my truck i need to work?

1 there to heavy 2 there to tall for the gears and what kinda tranny

could have done someing to the rear end, does it go at all? is the rear stock? if so like mongo said to heavy to tail. any way i would get it looked at.

well think about this i had mabey 3 to 4 inshes of tire over stock and my spedo was off by about 12 mph so if its a stock sending unit then at 60 you might be doing like 80

the wheels make you go alot faster than stock does and it makes it alot harder for the engine to pull

and with the tranny is it was an auto then the torque converter could of been slipping but we know a little more now

but i would not have but 22s on a stock rear end its not made for them

well if its that it could be just to much load on the gears at that speed. and the truck could be fine. did you go that fast before when you said it was fine? if not go slower for now and look in to some differint gears for the rear or you will break something

k

ok so look into gears is that all i need? and yea its been fine all week it just started tonight i drive 65miles to work and back so im concerned i dont wanna get atranded u know

well but the stocks on and if the problem goes away then its the gears but 3.73 in it but your mpg is going to drop

yah just take it ez. and if all you are useing it for is street then get new gears

yea its just street so just drive slow and dont pick up the speed to quick? and as far as gears do i need to swap the whole rear end out or just gears?

you can do just the gears. or the whole rear. id look to see what you could get cheaper. if your finds are about the same price. get the whole rear it ezer to do your self
