I'm in the process of starting a new project. Gonna sas and 94 ford ranger short bed regular cab. Truck is currently a 2.3 5 speed truck. The plans are use 1/2 tons out of my 78 f150 which at the present moments have 5.38 gears and a spool in the rear. Drive train plans are injected 347 c6 with a 205 unsure if married or divorced yet I have both. Planning on using a James duff setup in the front and leaf springs in the rear. The idea is to have something flexy enough to go play on some trails, powerful enough to do some playing in the mud but still be able to drive on the street. If you guys have some suggestion on some parts to make things easier I'm all ears , I'm used to full size rigs first time for a little guy. Hears a pic of the ranger and my donor rig

you got 60's or rocks for the fullsize? would hate to see you kill the big ford for the little one.

but your plan is solid and typical for that direction of need.

a c6 or aod variant with a married case with such a short truck is the best route imo.

Big one is not going any where, there getting hard to find, so putting it away and resurrect in a few years. And if I use the James duff stuff it will just bolt on the fullsize

Whats up with the quad cab? What year is it?

The quad cab is 1986 f350 4x4, I bought the truck for the axles to put in the 78, I sold the body and frame to a buddy. This what it looked like when I brought it home

I've got a 91 crew that i got for the axle to go under my ranger. Now looking to build it back into a tow rig, but I'd like to use a 92-97 crew cab. That one looks in great shape...

It was pretty nice till I unloaded the day I got it. The truck came with 46" michelins on 20's, truck came rolling off the trailer with drivers door open. Door caught one of the tires destroying the door and door frame.

Funny, thats the same tires I'm running on my ranger...lol

I don't think you can hear a picture.

I'm planning on 35-38" tire hoping to order the front suspension stuff tonight.

I can usually spell , I'll blame it on the spellchecker

Ordered my kit from James duff this morning also got a set of 5.5 eb bronco springs too. Got a set of flat knuckles given to me today also , can't wait to start on this thing

Damn all matching colors! She's gonna look good!
