I have a '93 ranger xl 2WD withthe bed off, fixing the tank support straps and frame rust issues. The rust is worst right around the fuel tank no? Will drop the tank and get in there.....

The fuel gauge does not work. I have a '97 xlt 2WD junker with the bed off, that might have a working sender, pump, better looking fuel lines....

Are the tanks compatible? Is there a way to check the operation? The '97 connections look so much better than the corroded '93.

Is it better to swap the whole tanks-connections-lines etc? All the way up to the engine?

Advice appreciated...this is a nice project and I plan to run this truck for a long time....my '93 S

plash finally rusted out, sadly....

They changed most things going forward to at least the fuel filter so you could just go to the fuel filter, might have to take the whole return line too...

Unless the resistance range of the gauge is different, It should pretty much be if it fits physically it'll work.

I put a ‘97 tank into a ‘94, had no issues, the real bonus is that they were both longbeds & the ‘97 tank was the optional 20 gallon tank. I did use the original ‘94 pump because the guage sender on the ‘97 no longer worked.

The pumpworked good on the '97 tank but the sender...no.
I took it apart, cleaned the contacts and the resistance bar and it works great.

Having trouble sourcing straps...mentioned this on another the mini thread.
