Checked a few sources and I can't believe how many comments there are on getting a Fuel Pump that doesn't fit or has clearance problems, is dead on arrival, or that fails within 30-90 days requiring removing the bad Fuel Pump and replacing again.
Even if they replace the bad unit under warranty I'd like to not have to do that for a second time!
Can anyone recommend a source for a Fuel pump that fits and that (hopefully) won't fail too soon!
Apparently, they have been discontinued from Ford so I hoping to find a unit with decent quality.
I have to replace the Fuel Tank Filler Hose again too as that hasn't lasted even 5 years!
The end of the smaller, internal hose has rotted away and I'm thinking that some of that debris may have caused the Fuel Pump to fail.
Seems like it's getting harder and harder to find decent parts anymore!
Appreciate any help in finding some decent replacement parts that will last!

Welcome to the new world we live in. If you find someone that has it in stock, it's all cheap China junk.

I bought a filler hose for my '97 and it was the wrong one, I think it was like 2" too short... so I have nothing on that, I ended up wrapping nylon pipe tape around the hose and putting the clamp on the outside, haven't leaked fuel out the filler neck in over a year for about $.25 in tape...

The fuel pump on the other hand, the inlet sock should take care of any random hose stuff, they just go out over time and things happen... Yes there's a LOT of junk out there anymore... I put a Delphi unit in the '90 several years ago and it's going fine... I was going to say grab a generic Walbro unit with sock and install kit but they're kinda spendy and you don't need the 255lph units like they all look like...

OK, well, I was hoping for some better news on these parts...
scotts90ranger - can you post or send me a link for that nylon pipe tape you used?
I want to put that on the hose before I install it in the hopes that that will keep it from rotting away too quickly.

For the Filler Hose: $54.79 Ranger Fuel Filler Hose
For the Fuel Pump: $49.99 Ranger Fuel Pump

Seems wrong that the Filler Hose costs more than the Fuel Pump!

I'll update this after I have them to comment on the 'quality / fit' for the parts and on how the installation goes.
