Hey guys, I am on the last issue of my build. And this is turning into a biiger issue than I thought. I am building a 5.0 ranger, I used gt 40 p heads and ford racing "p" specific headers but still had to modify the headers for the gear. Well I have enough room for a shaft and have been trying to find a u joint style. But have been unable to. If I caliper the inside of the original coupler it measures .710" and I can't count the splines they are wore by the flat on the shaft.and that .710" is like 18 mm and can only come up with 3/4 or 9/16 . ? Any info would be very helpful.

I'm not sure about what you're describing....but my OEM joints have special plastic sleeves that fit over the D-shaft ends to take up the extra play between the inside of the joint where the D-shaft slides in...

i usually piece together a shaft with parts from an aerostar or other vans/jeeps.

this setup is with 351 r headers. early style aerostar.
