Ok guys I have searched for two days and haven't been able to answer my questions. I bought a 97 ranger 2.3 that needs an engine. I have a low mileage 93 2.3 sitting in my shop. I was wondering if this swap will work. I already found out that the 97 has a cam sensor and where the 93 does not and also I noticed that the crank position sensor is different and mounts in another location. I need more details on how to make this work and I know there are some people very sharp on these engines on this forum that could help me. I do many engine swaps and usually swap intakes and all that but this is a bit more in depth. I appreciate all the feedback and I am planning on doing the swap this weekend.

the crank sensor should be easy as I believe the '97 sensor is mounted to the front seal housing, you might have to plug the two holes on the block from the '93 sensor though as they could be through holes into the crankcase.

Not sure on the cam sensor though as I've never dealt with one
