93 budget build! First build actually.

Well ive had it. Taking my coils back. The whole front end is coming out. Whats a good price to sell it for? Has newer pads and rotors on it.

I found a guy with a dana 44 out of a 79 f150 with 373s for 80 bucks. Going to go leaf sprung front end. I want around 6 inches of lift. Whats a good leaf set up and bracket set up?

Holy crap, its been a while.

Heres whats been done. I got most done cause i gave up on it for a while.

Whole rear ends done, tanks in,and the wheels are on.

32s do not rub and work fine. Taking it to school to heat bolts and put coils on.

Update pics coming tomorrow.

Went on a wheeling adventure to hillsville pa were i broke the truck. She did good considering i only got stuck twice and it was terrible back there. Went with my buddy that has a toyota with 31s,5spd,4wd and a locker in the rear. He crawled through it all, and a girl thats a good friend that has a 4wd stock ranger. We all had a blast and didnt break anything.

Still dont have my coils in, trucks going into lab tomorrow to start.

On the list of to do. Rear end, a 8.8 with a locker and 4.56 gears, as my 7.5 with 3.55 gears and 32s blows. A 3 inch body lift. Trim my fenders. Snorkle. And 35s to tie me over till i swap it to 4wd with a 44 front and all that good shit.

Well im going to give you guys a nice little picture grouping tomorrow. I am going to install my coils this week since i had to fix my moms van and other junk.

Im going to cut the fenders, coils, snorkle, and possibly weld the rear end and im set. Hopefully im getting the job at home depot and im going to start buying parts for my sas. I want the front fully solid axle swapped before i graduate in june.

So far this is my parts list.

78-79 f150 dana 44 with radius arms.
4.88 gears.
Undecided on coils, want some thing flexy, good street manners and 6-7inches of lift on a ranger.
Stock radius arms for now, james duff ones down the road.
James duff bolt on coil/shock towers for sas swap.

Anyone want to chime in on a trackbar ect? Also i think im going to leave it open for a while and lock it down the road.

tracbar, use the mount from the f150 you get your front axle from. the actual bar, just use some dom tubing cut to length with a heim joint on each end.

Pretty good looking rig you have there. Here's some info on how to post pictures:

Keep up the progress:icon_thumby: I just did a bunch of stuff to my '93. The hangers were not fun.

Mountain mike!!! Hood scoop!!! Lol sry had to, I remember reading your build and people complained about it. Screwem, Munson be bigger, but it'll be covering my v8.

Wow im constantly on here but always forget to update my damn thread!

Got my coils on,took it to yankee lake on the april fools teaser, creek plus water box= a truck that didnt want to drive, got it out and cleaned and she fired right up, other than that it didnt get stuck and had a blast, found some problems that need fixed.

Left front cab mount.
Fenders need trimmed, the right hand side is already done now.
Snorkle im doing a cowl one in the center black piece on the firewall.

I can tell my syncros are acting up so im going to save and get a 4wd 3.0 m5od and a transfer case, and crossmember and rear driveshaft.

Swapping in a 4wd tranny and tcase is just the same as 2wd but need the 4wd crossmember? Will be using new clutch and slave cylinder.

Well scratch all my past plans its changing. Im driving it till june 9th and getting a mid 90s f150 for a daily drive and ranger is getting torn down and im doing my dream build since i got my job lined up.

Dana 60s front and back, not sure on gearing yet or lockers.
Leafs front and back not sure how im setting up steering or if im in boarding rears or anything.
Cage inside, undecided on a exo cage still.
Tires some were in the 37-39inch flavor.
Transfercase doubler.

Last but not least a cummins 4bt mated to a zf5spd.

What can i sell my motor and tranny for? 3.0 v6 with 151,xxx runs perfect, tranny is a 2wd m5od and its either the syncros acting up or slave cylinder havent looked yet.

And the whole front end with new skyjacker leveling coils.

I still need to upload pictures too.

Do yourself a favor and buy a 92-97 F350 singlecab 4x with a 351 and swap all the parts into your Ranger. This will give you a ZF 5speed, Dana 60 with ball joints and a Sterling 10.25 rear. It'll also give you a BW1356 transfer case, which IMHO is a better transfer case that most NP cases, and the 205 only beats it because the 1356 is chain driven, but it's a HUGE chain. IT also beats the 205 in gear ratio. 2.71 vs 2sumpin

That 4BT is extremely heavy, so you have to worry about the extra weight. Also, It's pretty tall, dont know if it will clear your hood.

Oh, and you've got a 93, so you you have the same steering box as the Full size Bronco's and F series trucks. (According to parts interchange) So you can run the steering off the F350 as well.

The 4bt is around 700 pounds. It doesnt clear hood if my memory serves right but i planned on having my auto body friend make it a 2 inch cowl or something like that. Im thinking a 1356/1354 doubler. I really dont want to run a sterling rear as ive read about pinion problems.

The steering box is the same? I never knew this, so i could just swap my box out for a f350 box. Now i will brace/plate the mount.

And yeah benny, big plans. But i have a job right out of high school 60hrs ish a week, 15 an hour. Gather a nice part pile and tools.

Look into 1356/1356 doubler, gives you better low range from what I understand.

You dont need to swap it at all, unless you dont have power steering.

And the pinion problem on the sterlings was with the old 10.25's (91 and older) and that problem is that the threads on the pinion can strip if you dont watch the yoke nut. They are actually quite a bit stronger than the D60 rear.

I've been doing alot of research on 1ton Fords in prep for my full size Bronco swap. :icon_welder:
