I'm in the middle of a brake job on my 93 4x4 stx with the Dana 35. I cleaned and repacked the wheel bearings. When I assembled the passenger side I put bearing part number LM603049 as the inner bearing (closest to grease seal). But then when I took apart the drivers side I see that bearing is on the outside (right behind the wheel bearing adjusting nut)?! My question is did I install the bearings in the wrong place or was it backwards to begin with?
The spindles and bearings look to be in good shape on the passenger side, the drivers side spindle looks a lil suspect and that’s the one with the 603049 on the outside

Just popped the wheel seal off the drivers side and I see the inner and outer bearings are the same part number? But in the passenger side there was lm603050 as the outer bearing?

On 4x4, both inner and outer bearings are the same. It could be that one of those part numbers is a complete bearing and one is just the inner race with rolling elements. Sometimes people re-use the outer race or use the one that comes with the new rotor.

It is best to replace the complete bearing so that you know all parts of it were machined to the same tolerance by the same manufacturer.

Thanks for shedding some light on that. I’m putting new rotors on that came with new races installed. As far as I can tell these are all OE bearings, truck only has 60kmiles.

Did you file or sand that spindle? If not, then someone has worked on it before. It has definitely been worked on. Plus, I'm not sure Bower is a brand of bearing that Dana would have supplied with that axle.

Rare find if you got a 93 Ranger with only 63,000 miles. It's often difficult to know since the odometer doesn't display higher than 99,999.9
