Hey, I'm looking to replace the passenger door of my XLT. Are the rest of the 2nd gen doors compatible? Are there any 1st gen doors that are? I'd hate to drive some hours to find out they aren't, I know a guy with a '95 door & another with an '89. Apologies if this question was asked elsewhere, I couldn't find.

I think the profile of the door change at 92/93. So 93 up should work, tho I don't know how far up.

not to mention all most all of the 2nd gen have door mounted mirrors with pop nuts in the sheetmetal you would have to remove and repair the hole .. I would say ideal is gonna be 3rd gen only (93-97), but if the brow (body line) is the same might scope out 98+ in the junkyard too.

don't forget explorers

How do you get the door lined up right

Hi I’m new here I have a 95 ranger 2 door 4x4 I replaced the front door and I’m trying to get it to line up correctly it will close but has a gap at the top

That would probably be the bolts they the hinge into the outer firewall. Loosen the top bolts, lift up and see if there is movement, then tighten. If the gap at the fender gets too tight, back to where it was and do the same with the bottom hinge bolts.
This is assuming the hinges are good.

I would add in the question of WHY you replaced the door... on my '97 before I got it I found out it was in a ditch and they over extended the drivers door I'm pretty sure since the fender was screwed up, I put a '94 door on which fit fine (had to mix match latch and lock cylinders, there's subtle differences) but the door sagged and didn't latch right and the body lines didn't match... I got inventive and with the door just barely open I had a floor jack under the door with a 2x6 under the bottom rear of the door and went like that until the body lines matched... need to do it again though...

^^^ yes!
Using 2x4 and jacks is a well known method for body alignment at bodyshops too. Stuffing a 2x4 at the top or bottom and pushing at the opposite to tweak the door into better shape. Just roll down the window first.
