here is what I got for my 4.0 3 and a half years ago..

Counter Clockwise (Reverse) Rotation


worked good so far. got it off of Rock Auto for about 37 bucks, it is now 39 but they still have it. Not sure on your 92 4.0 but my 97 has the ccw rotation, something to keep in mind. greater minds than mine can chime in on the older 4.0's but I think they were all the same in this respect, and the 2.9s had the cw rotation. to break the fan clutch nut free, get a Sunnex 27mm combination wrench (17 bucks) and the fancy tool to hold the water pump pulley (less than 2 bucks) off of Amazon. the fan clutch tool from autozone was all clapped out and worthless.
