Hi guy bought a 96 ranger for my stepson and I to fix up for his first vehicle , engine misses shakes tranny smells s lil burnt , kinda haven't started on it yet just got it last week working on my wife's escape at the moment but picked up my regular ride from inspection today noticed a 00 ranger no tags bed full of scrap asked about bumper ( need rear one step side) happens to be what I need guy said make an offer so I did said whole truck going for scrap next week , runs drives on lot found it's a 3.0 auto 4x4 he said make an offer on powertrain but I don't know what all has to be switched from a 00 ranger 3.0 to a 96 ranger 3.0 any chart or guides on what motors swap and what doesn't

I can;t say for certain so don;t quote me but I think they're in the same series.
Why didn't you ask the guy what he wanted for the truck? Parts goes up when they think you'll buy it piece by piece
Scrap isn't hard to get rid of, they'll even pay you for it ;)

3.0l Vulcan will work fine from any year and to any year 1991-2008 Rangers, just have to swap intakes to match fuel system, EGR and sensor wiring

4WD trans will not work in a 2WD vehicle, in any year and visa versa

Yeah... just grab the entire truck. Parts is parts.

Welcomee to TRS...

I did ask about the whole truck the guy buys scrap vehicles and the title was already signed for scrap , guy has a garage and was using it as a old metal parts dumpster pretty much

its easy to fix the title. just take it down and explain how you saved it from death at the dmv. i have done that a few times with stuff already signed off on and they just lined it out and initialed that they ok'd the line out
