89 Ford ranger stx coolant disappearing

What are signs coolant is in the oil?
Pull the oil fill cap and look for a milky greenish yellow snot.

Make sure you warm the truck up good before hand (like a 15 min drive), cause condenstion snot (normal) can look similar

So my truck has been kinda going through coolant and not sure where it is going. I had to replace top radiator hose and the pool by the thermostat housing is dry but noticed a lil more by there.

So this is Infront of the front axle below the engine on the front is it leaking from there or down to it?

How much coolant are you adding and how often?

My Explorer leaks a tiny bit out of the overflow tank and it pools up on the wheel well liner. It never hits the ground when parked. The '86 has been dripping between the timing cover & water pump but it doesn't do it all the time. Wife's '95 is losing it somewhere but haven't figured it out yet.

So I cleaned off some of the old oil and grim from it and noticed coolant on the lower side of the water pump. On the passenger side

I use to check and fill it to the fill line all the time or when I noticed it was empty. I usually check oil, power steering and coolant level before I drive if it's been sitting for more then 6hrs.

If you can see coolant weeping on the bottom of the water pump, it probably has a bad seal and that will make it so coolant disappears. I would change that and see if your coolant problem goes away.

Ive noticed I leak coolant more when my truck sits for a day or two.

It sounds like your ware pump is going out. However, if you still have the original radiator, you might take a look at the drain plug on the radiator. My 89 Ranger with the 2.9l L engine started losing coolant and I had a difficult time figuring out where it was leaking. It has been a long time ago since that happened, but I think it would only leak when it cold. That drain is made of plastic, and I guess it would shrink enough when cold for the seal to not seal anymore. I bought a new plug, and I had no more coolant loss.

It's not dripping from there it's from the front of the engine I'm noticing a couple drips not a lot but it's coating my front axel

There is a weep hole on the bottom of the water pump that coolant will drip out of when the water pump is bad.
