so im gonna start a build thread on my 89 b2 so far im in the process of doing a 8.8 and dana 35 swap out of a 94 explorer i got the 8.8 im and pinion angle set the shock mounts are on all thats left is the brake lines and e brake cable. i also have to hook up the d shaft i had to get a conversion u joint for that i got it from napa ill get a part number incase someone else needs one and doesnt wanna wait for shipping but thats the rear.the front should be easy for the most part i have 6" of lift so i think the drive shaft might not have to be cut but we will see ill post pics of the build tomorrow its to dark now.

Man, you scored a hell of a find, great job Wish I could have found that b4 I thrashed my rig, I was lookin for a trail rig so I wouldn't damage mine, but went wheelin too many times and didn't get a trail rig soon enough, now I have body damage, so I have my trail truck, now I need to find another DD

so i got off work tomorrow so im gonna hopfully get it driveable put the front end in do the motor mounts and do some dash stuff... the plans are to have a decent offroader thats strong enough to handle anything i throw at it i still have to make bumpers and do the rear main seal that should be fun

so im working on extended radius arms i need some opinions i have a sway bar that is the same dimater as the stock stud do you guys think that it would be strong enough?

that is way undersized.....most use 2x2 1/4" wall or 2" DOM for the arms....

that would never work...not to mention that solid is weaker than tube.....

started working on the truck again got the drive shaft cut down to fit i took 1 3/4" off and it fits perfect. i dont have work tomorrow so ill be doing some wiring tomorrow im butting a pushbutton start on it and i gotta put 2" spacers in the front cause it sits to low then a alighnment. its getting close a few things left but the hard part is done so ill be in the mud soon ill post more recent pics of the truck tomorrow

Your weld doesnt look half bad on that driveshaft. You may want to have it balanced, but if your not going over 40 mph, I'm sure it'll be just fine.

On your radius arms, I would use some 2" DOM tubing, 1/4" wall. Lika this:

yea im only using the 4wd in the woods and i dont plan on going over 40 but i did cut it square and tacked in different spots so i think ill be good as for the arms im just going to use the stock arms for now i live in nj its pretty flat i dont need to flex that much
