I hope this is okay to post here. Let me know. Does anyone still have a wheel bearing adjusting nut for the Dana 28 automatic hub that they can let go of. I was doing my daughter's brakes and the nut cracked. There are no junkyard anywhere near my town. I've gone to every parts store and Ford dealership in town. I do not want to have to change her over to manual hubs. Thanks in advance. She drives an 89 BII 4wd with automatic hubs.

F3TZ3N105A - im putting in my 88 ranger as i could not find "bearing adjustment nut" i BELIEVE this is it. i have been looking for 1.5 yrs lol. just found it this morning. napa has it for 32 dollars here tomorrow AM :) ill let you know how it goes.

do you need the cam assembly as well or just the hub nut...

I'm confident this is an exact replacement for the bearing adjustment nut. My ranger is a weaird one where the 4wd console (selector buttons) are up top by the cab lights above the windshield in the center. I will let you know if it works out good, cuz my ranger has been sitting almost 2 years looking for this part!

EDIT - It's an 88

it comes with the lockouts on the 35. i was wondering if his cam was janked up or not....

Ahh, mine cracked and I literally had no explanation as to why. nothing was bent or out of whack. just literally cracked in a straight line from center to outside edge.

It looks janky for one reason. it wouldn't come off. I had to pry it off the threads by widening the nut briefly. never seen it before.

there should have been a lock “key” in the slot on the spindle. If you didn’t remove that first it may have been why it was locked on there. Auto hubs used a little metal tab in the slot that you were supposed to retrieve with a magnet but sometimes old grease would jam it in there or if the nut moved it could pinch it. Manual hubs used a washer with a tab between the lock nuts which is a lot easier to deal with

news, so apparently i got the nut for the dana 50 not the 28/35 so, yeah back to the look.
