89 B2 was diesel now back to gas build. V8 time!

Well last night I drove it a little more highway driving. To an off-road club in a town south of me. I clamped the waste gate pressure line shut. Hoping it would get boost to where I think it should be. And it did the trick, it maintained boost better, I could build more nothing crazy, up to 12 psi so 4 psi more boost. It definitely made a difference. EGTs stayed ok, even at 12 pounds of boost. So that was good! I don’t know, just have to work out the bugs.

went a picked up 3 sticks for 1 inch tubing. I’m going to build rack for my roof top tent I ordered. I’m going to tie the roof mounts that are there from factory and the gutter mounts. Should hold the tent up there ok. So that’s the next project!

Well got a very good start on the roof rack. Pulled my old one off, I’m pretty sure it’s twice the weight….. this one should be around 40 pounds right now. I’m using the gutter mounts and the factory roof rack mounts. It should hold a tent nicely! Used my old b2 body to build off of. Worked pretty well. Definitely helped not being so high haha

Ps, I built the last roof rack when I was in high school and didn’t cover the glass then and screwed it up then. lol so no hurting it this time. It wasn’t worth trying to cover it. I already messed it up. Didn’t know any better back then.

That looks good... it looks a bunch lighter then the original.

Did you fab up those drip rail clamps yourself?

Got a pic of how it ties in to the factory roof rails?

I'm not sure those drip rails would hold me. If they did... they would be screaming. Lol

I just used angle iron to tie in to the factory mounts. It feels sturdy. When I get my tent we’ll see I guess. On one of the facebook groups a guy just bolted them down to the factory cross bars lol tying them together with the drip rails I hope will be enough. I guess we’ll see! Yes I did build the gutter clamps myself. There very simple.

Im pretty sure the old rack was built out of a rear hitch scooter carrier. lol it’s definitely heavy. I stood on it a lot back in the day. Haha seemed sturdy. We’ll see haha

I like it...

Thanks for sharing.

Not sure I would put a RTT on mine but the rack inspires me.

Well I got it installed this morning. Turned out good I think. I was thinking about getting it powder coated but I had some paint and didn’t want to wait.

Well that was harder than I hoped. My tent I ordered still hasn’t shipped yet. It’s bigger than this one, but I decided to take the boys out this weekend so I pulled the tent off the ranger, had to move the T rails on the tent. But it’s bolted down and airing out. I pulled the diesel heater out of the shed, it’s still freezing at night and heck it snowed yesterday lol going through all my stuff. Ordered some more stuff.

Well got my fold down table on, moved the fire extinguisher around. Grill fits on it but it is a little small. Should work well enough!

lock tightened the transmission to call box nuts. They keep coming loose for some reason. But zip tied a few things. Besides some camping stuff it’s ready for its first trip this weekend.

got a tire trash bag also.

Well did a flush of oils, engine oil, transmission, crawl box and tcase all changed. I already did he crawl box and t case but now that it had a few weeks of driving it was time.

also did a few other small things.

I added a support bar to my roof rack, it goes down and ties into the old tire carrier mount. I don’t think I really need it but idk there’s a guy posting on my Facebook post saying the gutters mounts are going to get ripped off. Idk now I’ve got 3 supports. My new tent should hear any day!!! I’m pretty excited! Idk I’ve just been driving it.

Well coming home and power steering failed. Shit the bearing right out of it. It wasn’t new, so Olwell, it came with the used serpentine belt kit. New one is on there and fixed now. Drove it on a decent trip today. It will be a good 200 miles. Curious to what the mileage will be. Well find out tomorrow. New tent came in, I’m going get it on soon. Excited to take a camping trip with it. My fridge also came also. So I’ll be pretty much set! Pretty excited.

Well installed the new tent, it’s been raining so i haven’t opened it up yet but it’s bigger than my other one. It should be easier to deal with. That soft shell tent was a real pain! It’s perfect for my ranger. So it will go back on it.
I built an ammo can fire pit. Pretty cool, compact, and cheap. $40 bucks

also found a fridge. But I actually bought a different one that takes two batteries and it will run off the batteries for 58 hours. But it doesn’t fit straight in sadly. And yesterday a whynter 45 qt. Fits like a glove. And I found this one for a good deal off Facebook yesterday. We’ll see what the wife says haha

The rains let up today. Opened up the tent to let it air out. Moved my new used fridge to the other side, wired in power for it. We’ll see how long it runs. Thanks @4x4junkie the whynter fits. It’s tight but the door closes!
