I have an 89 ranger 4x4 superb with NEW brake booster, master cylinder, calipers front/rear, and all flexible brake lines stainless. All that is left from the old system is all hard lines on frame and the ABS box on the frame rail near the fuel filter. All hard lines were pulled and flushed with brake cleaner. NO LEAKS in system.
My question/problem: I have spongy brake pedal, goes all the way to the floor, bench bled the master and then opened lines at master and pressed peddle down to floor and held then re tightened twice, then bled system rear to front side/ side like normal for 2 hr in total multiple times and pedal still just goes to the floor.
Is the issue the ABS block on the fire wall? Do I need a special tool to bleed it? Or can I make a stainless flex line and bypass it and re bled and be OK?
The truck did sit for about a yr. with no fluid in lines and fully taken apart. If that matters.
Any info or advice is much appreciated.

Sure sounds like you still have air in the system or a leak.

How does the pedal feel with the engine not running?

so. The rears bleed normal? You may have a brand new junk right out of the box master.

Done that quite a bit. Brand new shiny Chineseium bullsheet.

And... there is always that!

You may need a scan tool to put the ABS into bleed mode.

I’m going to bypass the ABS box n the frame rail and I’ll let you guys know what comes of it. Thanks for the info.
if that does t fix it I’ll return the master and try a new. Maybe defective.
