2.3L ('83-'97) 89 2.3 Ranger Can someone confirm whether or not this would connect to the airbox? Thanks in advance!

Or where it would connect to? It's the air intake to box.

Have you checked on the hood or radiator support for a vacuum diagram?

I'm not familiar with the 2.3. But that might be associated with yhe valve that pulls air from around the exhaust manifold to help the engine warm up faster is cold weather. Vacuum temperature switch on airbox actuated the valve to pull air from the shroud around the exhaust manifold. On the 3.0l, it's on the passenger side.

That is the actuator for the air bypass valve thing, it is the little vacuum line on the air box that has the metal deal on the inside... I bypassed that whole system and eliminated all the parts on mine...
